    USACE Fort Worth District employee receives top honor

    A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District employee, currently deployed to Afghanistan with USACE-Transatlantic Afghanistan District, has been awarded one of the highest honors bestowed within the Corps of Engineers. Charles “Lon” Webster, assistant district counsel, was presented with the Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal June 1.

    Corps of Engineers water resources class learns from Trinity River watershed case studies in Dallas-Fort Worth

    Members’ of this year’s U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Planning Associates Program toured three Dallas-Fort Worth projects Aug. 23 during its weeklong session held in the Fort Worth District. The program offers an advanced training opportunity, for about a dozen competitively selected students from all over the Corps, on water resources planning.

    US Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District tree mitigation supports Dallas levee improvement project

    A tree mitigation survey completed in July 2012 is a first step in executing an important component of the Fort Worth District’s Dallas Floodway Extension Project, which supports the city of Dallas’ flood risk reduction efforts. Life safety is paramount in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Levee Safety Program. Levee safety is a shared responsibility for the Corps, Dallas and its citizens.
