FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, in cooperation with their sponsor, U.S. Women’s Chambers of Commerce, will host its first Women Owned Small Business and Historically Underutilized Business Zones Networking Opportunities Forum June 5, to provide networking with and inform businesses of opportunities with contractors who frequently do business with the Corps.
The forum is free and planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fritz G. Lanham Federal Building, located at 819 Taylor Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102 – Room 4A14H. Paid parking is available nearby.
“This is our first year hosting the Women Owned Small Business and HUB Zone Networking Opportunities Forum and I’m looking forward to a great event,” said Carolyn Staten, deputy, Small Business Programs, Fort Worth District.
“We consider small business to be the heart of our economy and a vital part of the Corps’ procurement process and our goal is to ensure that a fair proportion of contracts or subcontracts for property and services for the government be placed with small business enterprises,” added Staten.
Other agencies participating in the forum include the Small Business Administration, General Services Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Texas Department of Transportation, Procurement Technical Assistance Center and Federal Aviation Administration.
