PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Cameron proposes to relocate a pump station and associated dam with extension of the existing waterline on the Little River to an upstream location (0.47 acres) in Milam County, Texas. The proposed actions would include modification of the existing channel dam (120 feet x 40 feet), such that a portion (9 feet x 25 feet x 9.5 feet high) of the dam is removed/notched to eliminate all impounding of water and impediment to aquatic life movements, construction of a new pump station and intake structure (10 feet x 16 width), construction of a waterline (approximately 7,300 feet, 14 inches in diameter) and construction of a wastewater effluent line (approximately 4,300-feet, 15 inches diameter), construction of an access road (approximately 4,637 feet, 20 feet wide), and construction of a new upstream channel dam (40 feet x 130 feet width x 5.99 feet height). Additionally, to mitigate the effects of erosion along the banks of the river channel, sheet pile and/or rock rip rap is proposed upstream and downstream of the new pump station. An estimated 1,864 cubic yards of fill would be needed.
