PUBLIC NOTICE UNDER SECTION 106 OF THE NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT

DRAFT HISTORIC PROPERTIES MANAGEMENT PLAN, WACO LAKE, MCLENNAN COUNTY, TEXAS
BACKGROUND: Waco Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federally authorized Civil Works project. The development and implementation of an historic properties management plan (HPMP) is a federal undertaking subject to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
ENCLOSURE FOR PUBLIC REVIEW: The Draft HPMP has been redacted for public review to protect sensitive information about irreplaceable archaeological resources. Review and download the Waco Lake Draft HPMP at: https://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/waco/pdf/20230811_Draft_Waco%20HPMP_Redacted.pdf.
SOLICITATION OF COMMENTS: The USACE is soliciting comments from all parties having an interest in the management of historic properties at Waco Lake. Comments on the draft HPMP, additional information, or recommendations regarding cultural resources and historic properties at or around Waco Lake will be considered by USACE in the development of the Final HPMP.
Please note that names and addresses of those who submit comments in response to this public notice may be made publicly available. Material submitted as part of the Section 106 consultation process become part of the public record and are available to the public under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Individuals may submit a written request to obtain materials under FOIA or make an appointment to view the project file at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, Office of Counsel.
