Corps of Engineers extends removal date for boat owners at Johnson Creek Marina

Published Jan. 7, 2016

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, closed Johnson Creek Marina at Lake O’ the Pines effective December 2, 2015, due to a long history of public safety concerns. The Corps has no intentions of a future lease in this location.

The original deadline for patrons of Johnson Creek Marina to remove vessels and personal property from the lake, or have it relocated to another marina was February 2, 2016.  Due to current flood conditions on the reservoir the Corps is extending this deadline to March 2, 2016.  Vessels and personal property that are not removed by March 2, 2016, will be subject to impoundment.

The Corps is dedicated to working with the public, and vessel owners are encouraged to contact Lake O’ the Pines Project Office to discuss removal or relocation.

For further information, please contact the Lake O’ the Pines Project Office at 903-665-2336, or the Fort Worth District Public Affairs Office at 817-886-1306.
