Published Nov. 20, 2015

FORT WORTH, Texas – Due to general maintenance, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced full closure of the Waco Lake Dam Hike and Bike Trails.  The closure will begin December 1 and the trails will remain closed until project completion.  Areas to close in full are all three hike and bike access points along the Waco Lake Dam Hike and Bike Trail as well as the Bosque Park access point to the Waco Lake Dam.

Please check our website for the most current facility closures at http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/waco prior to recreating on Waco Lake. Additional questions may be addressed to the Waco Lake Project Office at 254-756-5359.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Waco Lake also reminds everyone to be attentive to all shoreline areas that may have sharp debris, submerged trees or shrubs, and watch for animals forced to higher ground due to recent flooding.  As always, lake users are encouraged to wear a properly fitted life jacket.
