FORT WORTH, Texas – The Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to attend open house meetings and formal public hearings to provide comments on the Draft Regional Environmental Impact Statement prepared to evaluate proposed changes to the USACE regulatory framework under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. The REIS analyzes the potential impacts to waters of the U.S. and other relevant environmental and human resources within six study areas that could be affected by future surface coal and lignite mine expansions. A copy of the Draft REIS will be available for review at the public hearings and copies are available in the main library in each of the 32 counties in the six study areas.
