U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Bardwell Lake announce opening of campgrounds

FORT WORTH, Texas – The summer camping season is almost here and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are preparing to open its campgrounds at Bardwell Lake.  The Corps operates three camping areas at the lake.

Facilities range from fully developed sites with water and electric hookups to non hookup tent sites.  Camping fees range from $14 to $18 per night for sites. High View and Mott campgrounds open April 1 along with multi-use trails. Waxahachie Creek Park is closed for renovation with a target opening date of May 1.

Individual campsites are available by reservation or on a first come basis. To make a reservation, call Reserve America toll free at 1 (877) 444-6777 or on line at www.recreation.gov.

Campers are reminded that:

  • Checkout time is 2 p.m.
  • Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 10 people and three vehicles.
  • Pets are welcome, but must be kept on a leash.
  • Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.
