BELTON LAKE, Texas -- BELTON LAKE, Texas – Officials with the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that effective Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Belton Lake Project Office is planning to temporarily close Westcliff Park to allow for contracted construction work to be completed throughout the park. Westcliff Park received significant damage during the recent flood events. To ensure public safety, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be temporarily closing the park to allow for the repairs to be performed.
Construction is scheduled to take place throughout the entirety of Westcliff Park, for this reason the Belton Lake Office is reminding the public to adhere to all posted signs and barriers for your safety. Those that have reservations in place to camp at Westcliff Park will receive email notifications through Recreation.gov that their reservation has been cancelled and will be issued an automatic refund.
