Lavon Lake Conducts Public Meetings – Operational Changes to the Lake’s Recreation Areas

Published April 15, 2025

Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, at Lavon Lake announce they are in the final stages of a study to determine how to improve recreation facilities at Lavon Lake.

Lavon Lake launched the study in November 2024 to develop a comprehensive strategic plan focused on enhancing recreation areas at Lavon Lake.  The study explored solutions that would  optimize internal operations, build innovative partnerships with local municipalities, and potential leases with other government agencies at the local, county, and state levels, and in some cases, permanent park closures.  The goal was to provide the greatest number of high-quality facilities for the public to enjoy.

Lavon Lake has two public meetings scheduled, one on the south end of the lake, the other on the north end of the lake.  The meetings are scheduled in the evening to provide maximum opportunities for people to attend outside normal work hours.
