FORT WORTH, Texas -- Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District announced today that beginning Monday, June 3, through Tuesday, June 4, river flows will be temporarily impacted because of a switchover from Guadalupe Blanco River Authority controlled releases to USACE controlled releases. River flows will be adjusted in preparation for the annual inspection on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
On June 4, controlled water releases will be completely shut off from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. so that USACE personnel can safely inspect the outlet works, conduit and flood control gates. Conditions should return to normal June 5.
The Operations staff at USACE understand this temporary adjustment to river flows will have some impact to downstream users, but we appreciate the patience of everyone as we work to perform the annual inspection. Inspection items include all those necessary for the proper functioning of the dam, outlet works and associated components.
Safety is our number one priority, and we want to remind everyone that if you are in or near the water to wear a life jacket.
