Officials with the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the embankment road located between the outlook works parking lot and Welch Park will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024. In the event of inclement weather, these dates could shift this timeline further out.
The closure is in response to safety concerns associated with traffic control as contractors work to install equipment on the embankment. To ensure contractor safety it will be necessary to keep the roadway closed until the work is complete. Patience and understanding are appreciated as safety is our number one priority.
All lake visitors are encouraged to wear a life jacket when near or in the water.
