FORT WORTH, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at Sam Rayburn Reservoir announce contract work to begin next month at Rayburn Park.

A recently awarded contract to Lakey Construction, Inc. Lufkin, Texas, for campsite utility replacement and park rehabilitation of recreation amenities at Rayburn Park in San Augustine County is scheduled to start early November and be complete March 2023.  The work is being completed under funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The contractors will replace utility systems at existing campsites, rehabilitate campsite impact areas, and install recreation amenities at these campsites.  To expedite work and keep both contractors and the public safe, Rayburn Park will be closed for the duration of the work.  Campers with affected reservations will be notified immediately once closures are made via the recreation.gov notification system.
