U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at Lake Georgetown announce the following changes to the 2022-2023 archery deer hunting season requirements.

Archery Applications for the Lake Georgetown 2022-2023 archery deer hunting season will be accepted June 15, 2022, to June 30, 2022. All applications must be submitted through the Lake Georgetown Archery Deer Hunt Permits page in Recreation.gov. The permit information will be posted on Recreation.gov starting May 1, 2022, but the actual application process will not begin until June 15, 2022. A $10.00 application fee applies. Physical applications will not be accepted at the lake office.

Applicants will be entered in a standard lottery through Recreation.gov. They will be notified of their selection after the application period has ended. If an individual wins the lottery, they will be required to submit a non-refundable $100.00 lake recreation fee to reserve their permit. The Recreation.gov permit letter alone does not guarantee the applicant the right to hunt. Applicants must attend hunter orientation and complete additional requirements to receive an official hunting permit from the lake office. Refunds will not be granted.

Applications must be submitted through Recreation.gov online or through the call center on behalf of the individual. Only one hunter will be allowed to hunt under each permit. Applicants may only submit one application per season.
