Somerville Lake’s Embankment Road to re-open following day of maintenance

Officials with the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Somerville Lake announced today that Thornberry Drive from Highway 36 to the project office will be closed for roadway striping.

The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, February 7 and is scheduled to be complete by 4 p.m. the same day. Roads accessing Thornberry Drive will be blocked off; drivers are asked to use alternate routes. Access will be granted to private residences, by use of flagger or pilot vehicle.

Safety is our number one priority. Any visitors to the lake that will be near or in the water are encouraged to wear a life jacket and follow CDC protocols for COVID-19.
