CANYON LAKE, Texas -- Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake will temporarily close the dam service road for embankment vegetation control beginning on August 11.
The dam service road is expected to be closed for two days to allow a contractor to stage equipment and apply herbicide.
“We understand a large number of people use the dam service road as a place to walk, including pets enjoying a walk with their owners, take pictures, and enjoy being outdoors but for the safety of all visitors, we will be restricting access until the work is completed,” announced Canyon Lake manager, Javier Pérez Ortiz.
Canyon Lake staff anticipate reopening the road August 13 after the contractor completes the work.
“Herbicide application on Canyon Dam occurs twice a year, once in spring and once in late summer,” said Ortiz.
