U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at Canyon Lake will temporarily close the Guadalupe Trail and the Stilling Basin Parking lots Friday, April 9 through Sunday, April 11 due to maintenance work.

“We understand large numbers of people use the areas to enjoy the great outdoors, but for the safety of all visitors, including pets enjoying a walk with their owner, we will be restricting access until the work is completed,” announced Canyon Lake Manager, Javier Pérez Ortiz.

USACE anticipates reopening the parking lots on Monday, April 12.

Canyon Lake staff members ask all visitors to practice leave-no-trace, use designated trash receptacles and always wear a life jacket while boating or anytime in or near the water.

Visitors should follow CDC’s guidelines regarding social distancing and remain diligent. Do not visit parks and recreation areas if sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms.

Additional information is available by calling the Canyon Lake Office at 830-964-3341.
