FORT WORTH, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Officials announce today the release of the Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed expansion of Lone Star Lodge and Marina on Ray Roberts Lake, located in Denton County, Texas.

Purpose of the Lone Star Lodge and Marina project is to provide additional recreational facilities and an east access point to Ray Roberts Lake. The proposed marina and recreational additions would increase public access to the lake and allow for better utilization of the existing recreational facilities. The improvements would occur on a 60 acre parcel of land owned by USACE and leased for park and recreational purposes by the cities of Dallas and Denton; the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department manages the property as agent for the cities, with park amenities that have been constructed by concessionaires under contract with TPWD. A private contractor will be responsible for completing the improvements and private dollars would fund the investment.

The proposed project and DEA for this action is authorized pursuant to the recreation development policies and procedures of ER 1130-2-550, including the requirement to complete this EA under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (42 U.S.C. 4321, et seq.). This DEA describes the environmental impacts associated with the proposed action.
