Officials with the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, announced today that it will close access to the outlet works parking lot and the north embankment roadway on June 22, to conduct routine maintenance.

“We understand this may be an inconvenience for some of our visitors, so we hope to have this completed in a timely manner to allow public access again,” said Somerville Lake manager, Russell J. Meier.

A future closure will be necessary for embankment road maintenance, located between Lake Somerville Marina and Welch Park.    An additional announcement with specific dates will be made available once the timeline becomes clearer.

Any visitors to the lake that will be near or in the water are encouraged to wear a life jacket and follow CDC protocols for COVID-19.

Additional information is available by calling the Somerville Lake Office at 979-596-1622.
