FORT WORTH, Texas – Beginning tonight, August 13, the road across Grapevine Lake Dam will be closed to public traffic. Only authorized persons and vehicles will have access to accomplish U.S. Army Corps of Engineers missions.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are in the initial process of repairing a shallow slide at Grapevine Lake Dam. As a part of this forthcoming repair, the Corps had intended to close the road during the construction phase only. However, due to current weather conditions the road is being closed now.
The Corps is closing the road effective the night of August 13 as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the public as there is a concern with vehicles on the roadway.
The dam continues to function as designed to accomplish the flood risk management, water supply and other mission responsibilities.
