Road closed over Joe Pool Dam

Published Feb. 28, 2018

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has temporarily closed the road over Joe Pool Dam due to some shallow embankment slides.

Lake staff identified the shallow slides while conducting routine surveillance of the structure. These slides are shallow in nature and do not pose any immediate concerns to the structural integrity of the dam. The dam continues to function as designed.

No vehicles, bicycles or pedestrians will be allowed on the dam until repairs are complete.
