USACE announces temporary road closure to Dana Peak Park

Published Jan. 18, 2018

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stillhouse Hollow Lake will temporarily close Comanche Gap Road as it enters government property beginning January 23 until February 28. The road will be closed while construction crews repair the road and road shoulders entering Dana Peak Park.

The Dana Peak boat ramp will be impacted, so alternate boat ramps can be accessed at Cedar Gap and Stillhouse Parks.

Access to the hiking and biking trails systems within Dana Peak Park is available, but due to safety concerns during ongoing construction, the public is requested to stay off the road and road shoulders and use existing trails to walk to the trailhead.

The road will be reopened as soon as the repairs are completed. For more information, please contact the Belton and Stillhouse Hollow Lakes Office at (254) 939-2461.
