Lake O’ the Pines stilling basin to be de-watered

Published April 6, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers representatives at Lake O’ the Pines will be conducting de-watering operations April 10 to approximately April 21 of the stilling basin (outlet) area.

De-water operations remove water from the outlet area so that a routine inspection can be completed of the concrete structure within the stilling basin area. These inspections are normally conducted every ten years.

Public access will be restricted for safety reasons as the Corps and its contractors conduct the de-watering and inspections. Fishing at the outlet area will not be allowed during this time.

Questions concerning the de-watering operation can be directed to Lake Manager Matthew Like or Lead Ranger Cody Berry at the Lake o’ the Pines Office at 903-665-2336.
