Culp Branch Prairie Management Unit Prescribed Burn
PILOT POINT, Texas (Feb. 25, 2020) - Crews from Texas Parks and Wildlife, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, and Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conducted a prescribed burn on the 300-acre Culp Branch Prairie management unit west of the Ray Roberts Dam. The fire was used as a tool to control some of the unwanted vegetation, such as the Eastern Red Cedar you see going up in flames in this photo, and to promote healthier regrowth of native prairie plants in this area.
