DALLAS (Dec. 4, 2020) - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District demolished parts of a wooden trestle leading to the historic Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway bridge as part of the Dallas Floodway Extension project. The bridge and parts of the trestle leading to it were previously rehabilitated by the City of Dallas in a separate project. The Corps removal of the remnants of the abandoned portions of the wooden trestle was due to its adverse impact to the Standard Project Flood water surface profile. Photo by Andre Mayeaux
