U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces new Waco Lake Day Use Parks closing hours

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Waco Lake are changing park hours for the Twin Bridges and Koehne Park Day Use Areas. The parks are currently open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the summer recreation season. Beginning March 1, the parks will close at 8:30 p.m. Both parks will continue to open at 6 a.m.

The new closing time better reflects actual use and operational hours of other parks in the area. Additionally, most day use visitors have completed their recreation by sunset or shortly afterwards and the new closure time still provides adequate time for those activities. Historically, most undesirable activity in parks occurs after dark when most users have already exited the park. The new closure time reduces the potential for those activities.

New signage will be posted and all visitors will be asked to leave the beach and picnic areas by this time.  Boaters are able to exit all ramps at Waco Lake using the night exits.
