U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announce today that Fairway Drive across the Grapevine Lake Dam is scheduled to open soon.

Fairway Drive across Grapevine Dam has been closed to the public since August last year due to potentially hazardous conditions on the road observed during a routine inspection after heavy rainfall. Investigations of the road condition were conducted to determine the level of repair needed for safe vehicular traffic use.  USACE will continue to coordinate with city officials and other stakeholders to ensure restrictions placed on vehicles provide safety for the structure and users of the road. City of Grapevine will restrict all commercial truck traffic regardless of size or weight on Fairway Drive from the City limits at Flower Mound to State Highway 26.

Downstream embankment slope repairs are almost complete and without any weather impacts the final maintenance and road improvements are scheduled to be completed within the next few weeks.

Grapevine Lake's flood risk management, water supply and other mission areas continue to be accomplished.  As always, public safety is our priority and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while repairs to the road were accomplished.
