WEBVTT 00:01.210 --> 00:03.609 On the surface , it looks like a quiet 00:03.609 --> 00:06.260 morning on the lake . But just beneath 00:06.260 --> 00:09.020 that calm , soldiers are training for 00:09.020 --> 00:11.076 one of the most critical missions in 00:11.076 --> 00:14.159 the military , getting an entire force 00:14.500 --> 00:17.170 across water . We're the 401 00:17.170 --> 00:18.892 Engineering Company . We are a 00:18.892 --> 00:21.879 multi-role bridging operation . So 00:21.979 --> 00:24.035 right now we're just , uh , training 00:24.035 --> 00:26.201 all of our new people and our NCOs who 00:26.201 --> 00:28.312 haven't gotten to do this in a really 00:28.312 --> 00:30.201 long time , and we basically make 00:30.201 --> 00:32.368 bridges that float on water anytime we 00:32.368 --> 00:34.590 need people to get from one side of the 00:34.590 --> 00:36.590 water to the . Next we can create a 00:36.590 --> 00:39.369 raft , um , and that raft we can beach 00:39.369 --> 00:42.849 up and vehicles , tanks , Humvees , etc . 00:43.009 --> 00:44.842 can drive up on there and we can 00:44.842 --> 00:46.898 unbeach them with our boats and take 00:46.898 --> 00:48.898 them across or depending on if it's 00:48.898 --> 00:50.953 like a river we can actually go from 00:50.953 --> 00:53.176 end to end building the bridge until it 00:53.176 --> 00:55.065 connects to the other side from a 00:55.065 --> 00:57.065 single crossing to moving an entire 00:57.065 --> 01:00.330 force this capability scales fast . You 01:00.330 --> 01:02.720 can , you can do a build and . 01:05.389 --> 01:07.470 Between 5 and 10 minutes I mean it's 01:07.470 --> 01:09.692 pretty quick getting all this equipment 01:09.692 --> 01:12.230 that hits the water they open up and 01:12.230 --> 01:14.286 then we get our boats immediately in 01:14.286 --> 01:16.341 there we have our crews they're well 01:16.341 --> 01:18.452 trained at this point it's just , you 01:18.452 --> 01:20.730 know . Um , step after step , you know , 01:20.730 --> 01:23.260 um , muscle memory at that point , and 01:23.260 --> 01:25.419 so it's really cool to see how fast 01:25.419 --> 01:27.800 they can do basically this little 01:27.940 --> 01:30.129 Tetris act with the with the bridges , 01:30.540 --> 01:32.762 get it in there , beach it , and when a 01:32.762 --> 01:34.873 plan comes together , I mean , moving 01:34.873 --> 01:36.929 them across . And it's made possible 01:36.929 --> 01:38.989 through partnership with the US Army 01:38.989 --> 01:41.100 Corps of Engineers . Working with the 01:41.100 --> 01:43.322 Corps of Engineers has been amazing . I 01:43.322 --> 01:45.433 mean , we're all part of the engineer 01:45.433 --> 01:47.739 regiment . And so when reservists that 01:47.739 --> 01:49.906 are in the engineering regiment get to 01:49.906 --> 01:51.906 work with full-time UAS personnel , 01:51.906 --> 01:54.128 it's great . Like the UAS personnel has 01:54.128 --> 01:57.419 been amazing to work with . UAS has a 01:57.419 --> 01:59.860 whole bunch of resources like this park , 02:00.139 --> 02:02.660 this lake , getting a reserve unit on 02:02.660 --> 02:05.459 there to basically train on it and 02:05.459 --> 02:07.980 partner with UAS has been fantastic for 02:07.980 --> 02:10.820 the US Army Corps of Engineers , Fort 02:10.820 --> 02:13.380 Worth District .
