The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District has executed a commercial concession lease with Stillhouse Hollow Marina and RV Resort to manage and operate the Stillhouse Hollow Park and Marina recreation area at Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
The agreement covers approximately 115 acres of land and water and will restore public access to marina services while integrating day-use recreational opportunities within a single, managed area.
“This lease represents our commitment to enhancing recreational access and services for the public,” said Tim MacAllister, chief of operations division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District. “By partnering with a commercial concessionaire, we are able to bring back marina operations and improve the overall visitor experience at Stillhouse Hollow Lake.”
Under the lease, the concessionaire will operate the marina and associated facilities, as well as manage the surrounding recreation area. The combined approach is intended to streamline operations, improve maintenance, and provide consistent services to visitors.
Stillhouse Hollow Lake is a key recreation destination in Central Texas, offering boating, fishing, camping, and day-use activities. The re-establishment of marina services is expected to expand access for boaters and support continued recreational use of the lake.
The Corps of Engineers manages public lands and waters at Stillhouse Hollow Lake for multiple purposes, including flood risk management, water supply, environmental stewardship, and recreation. Commercial concession leases are one of several tools used by USACE to provide high-quality recreational opportunities while maintaining stewardship of federal resources.
Visitors are encouraged to check for updates on marina operations and park access as the concessionaire begins transition and operational activities.
