FORT WORTH, Texas – The Fort Worth District Hybrid Tool for Real Estate Data Management Team is one of four U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 2016 Innovation of the Year Award winners announced last week.
The winners were recommended to receive this award by an evaluation panel appointed to determine the best qualified innovations and teams. The winners will be included in the 2016 "National Awards Ceremony" Program in August.
“The national recognition of the tool and its impact on significantly improving real estate management is a testament to their vision, commitment, team work, technical expertise, effort and accomplishments,” said Eli Kangas, Chief, and Geospatial Engineering Section.
The District Hybrid Tool for Real Estate Data Management Team included Bob Heselton, Senior Geographic Information System Analysts and Programmer, Jennifer Holland, GIS Analyst and Web Programmer, Peter Nowell, Real Estate Auditor, and Mike Weber, Operations Division Geospatial Data and Systems Manager.
The Hybrid Tool is a web-based, interactive map application and viewer. The tool provides users at all levels of the organization with immediate access to real estate documents, geospatially referenced tract maps, and a link to the REMIS database ensuring they are complete, correct and consistent through an automated validation process.
This unprecedented access and accuracy improves productivity, decreases costs, and supports decision-making with a higher level of confidence in the execution and management of our military and civil real estate missions.
