Published March 25, 2014

FORT WORTH, Texas – Today the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, began development of the plans and specifications design documents for the Fort Worth Central City by-pass channel. The 1.5 mile long and 300 foot wide channel is part of the overall Trinity River Vision Project.

Design of the by-pass channel will be accomplished during fiscal years 2015 and 2016. The project is a Corps of Engineers Civil Works project in partnership with the Tarrant Regional Water District, Tarrant County, City of Fort Worth and Streams and Valleys, Inc.

“The project delivery team members are familiar with the project because they have been engaged with the project for years and know the sponsors needs, according to Geotechnical Branch Chief Mark Black. The PDT has performed reviews from inception through current design stage and fully comprehends scope and customer’s requirements.”

“I am excited to commit the Fort Worth Team to this great opportunity to provide this service to our partners” said, Colonel Charles H. Klinge, Jr., commander, Fort Worth District.
