Cole named one of two U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Innovators of the Year

FORT WORTH, Texas – Jon Cole, Knowledge Management Representative for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District’s Programs and Project Management Division, is one of two recipients of the 2014 USACE Innovator of the Year Award.

The Innovator of the Year Award is presented annually to recognize outstanding team members whose initiatives and projects have positively impacted and contributed to the Corps use of effective, responsive, visionary and innovative methods to provide sound engineering solutions to the Nation.

Cole received the award for his innovative work in the concept, development and implementation of the new Knowledge Now/Skill Builder Application. This training tool:

  • Addresses training challenges for Project Delivery Teams
  • Reduces time spent out of the office for team training
  • Provides relevant and condensed information
  • Provides an interactive, electronic and sustaining forum for employees to gain necessary information to effectively execute District missions

“This award recognizes Jon’s innovative work and leadership to provide a tool that will improve Project Delivery Team effectiveness and project success,” said Col. Calvin C. Hudson, III, Fort Worth District Commander. “The entire Fort Worth District is proud of this outstanding achievement.”
