U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Whitney Lake issue hunting permits for 2012-2013 season

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Whitney Lake are issuing hunting permits for the 2012-2013 hunting season. If you hunted during the 2011-2012 hunting season you may renew your permit online. If you did not submit your hunter’s survey by June 21, 2012 you are ineligible to receive a hunting permit for the 2012-2013 hunting season and may reapply in August 2013. New hunters may obtain a permit by mail or in person at the Whitney Lake Project Office. Items required to obtain a permit are as follows:

  • Current hunting license
  • Proof of hunters safety course (If Required)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Application
  • Waiver of Liability

What you need to know about the program: Local, State and Federal Laws are enforced on Corps managed lands at Whitney Lake. It is your responsibility to know and understand the rules and regulations before heading to your favorite hunting spot.

  • Check with Texas Parks and Wildlife concerning state regulations, hunting seasons and bag limits.
  • Corps of Engineers regulations can be found at www.swf.usace.army.mil and https://whitneylakehunting.tamu.edu/ or by contacting the Whitney Lake Project Office at 254-622-3332. No stands, feeders, cameras, blinds, etc may be left in or at any hunting area. These items must be removed after each hunt.

Putting safety first and following safe hunting practices will allow for a great hunting experience. The Corps hopes you have a safe and enjoyable hunting season.
