Canyon Dam flood gate replacement work by the Tennessee Valley Authority is scheduled for December 5, 2022 through April 15, 2023 impacting low flow releases.

Low flow releases can range from 55 to 95 cubic feet per second; however, during days when TVA workers need to be in the conduit, flows will be shut off.  Usually, the workdays are 10 hours in length and during the 14 hour off duty period, catch up releases will be made.  This strategy will minimize stream flow disruptions and allow needed flood gate replacement work to be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
