Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Officials at Canyon Lake announce today the beginning of work to replace the security fence around the outlet works at Canyon Dam.

Work is expected to begin October 14.  Access to the Guadalupe Nature Trail and parking for the Fishing Platform will be restricted while the fence is being replaced.  Also, there may be impacts to traffic on South Access Road during the replacement of the security fence.  “We do understand that the public will be impacted by our personnel replacing the security fence; however, for the safety and security of our visitors and the facility the fence must be replaced,” stated Lake Manager Javier Pérez Ortiz.

Fence replacement is scheduled to take less than 25 days, depending on weather.
