FM 2271 reduced to one lane temporarily across Belton Lake; seek alternate route

Published Dec. 12, 2016

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Belton Lake will temporarily close FM 2271 to one lane beginning January 1, 2017. The road will be controlled by traffic signals during this period and long delays are expected; seek an alternate route. This one lane closure is scheduled to last 90 days with exception of any extended weather delays. USACE will be repairing a surface slide and replacing the guard rail on the east side of the dam along with some other infrastructure improvements.

The temporary lane closure is necessary because of public and construction safety on the dam.
